My connection to 4G Clinical began long before my internship. For nine years, I watched as my mom, one of the company’s early employees, found purpose and community in her work. Her passion and the dedication shown by everyone I met within the industry was inspiring, but what truly captivated me was the company’s work with data. While I’ve never been one for hands-on lab work, the idea of a single software solution enabling the collection of valuable data was fascinating to me. The data itself felt like a treasure trove of hidden truths, and I was eager to uncover them. This fascination with data analysis and a want to learn became a guiding force when I started looking for a summer internship between college semesters.
When I was offered the opportunity to work alongside 4G’s marketing team, I was excited by the prospect of combining my interests. Beforehand, I expected a role focused on marketing tasks like graphic design and other creative activities with some data analysis assignments when needed. However, after joining, I was pleasantly surprised to find the role was much more dynamic. Here I had an opportunity to not only practice data analysis but also learn how to present and visualize it effectively. The internship has also allowed me to build my skills in HTML and web design, giving me the chance to explore new creative and technical formats. Beyond these skills, I’ve also learned valuable marketing tactics and how to design professional reports, making every day a new learning experience at 4G Clinical.
While the work itself has been educational, the most impactful part of my internship has been the team. Everyone I’ve met has been supportive and patient, always willing to take a few minutes to answer my questions or help me navigate a new challenge. This commitment to mentorship has been crucial for me as a new member of the professional workforce.
The team’s dedication to their work is also remarkable to me. There’s a palpable passion and care that goes into every task, large or small. It’s clear that everyone is mutually invested in the company’s mission: “Bringing crucial medicines to those who need them, faster.”
Outside of 4G, my academic focus has centered around making the world more accessible, particularly in a physical sense. Working at 4G has shown me how clinical trials are being made more manageable and efficient. This extension of my personal mission is another facet of helping people across the board get the solutions they need for better life outcomes.
This internship has been a transformative step for me. Before stepping into my role, I had a basic understanding of clinical trials, but the complexity and layered approaches behind these projects are far more impressive than I initially imagined. Beyond the technical skills and industry knowledge, 4G Clinical has taught me invaluable lessons about what the professional world looks like. From collaboration and communication to the importance of a supportive work environment, the takeaways I’ve gathered throughout my time here will continue to uplift me wherever my future leads. I’ve grown not just as an employee, but as a person as well.
