4G Clinical is proud to support CISCRP's (Center for Information & Study on Clinical Research Participation) Debunking Common Myths campaign by launching a video series dedicated to addressing trial misconceptions.
According to a recent CISCRP survey, potential risks came in as the number one piece of information influencing a person’s decision to participate in a trial. In this video you will hear from David Kelleher, the CEO and co-founder of 4G Clinical, on patient safety in clinical trials.

Hi, I’m Dave Kelleher. I’m the CEO at 4G Clinical. We're a software company that helps execute clinical trials and I just want to talk about trials.
While I’ve never participated in a trial, I do live with a chronic disease, MS. I do take medication that went through trials some years ago, and I know that when given the opportunity to participate in the trial it can be a bit scary, right?
Perhaps folks are worried about the safety of an experimental drug and what I would say is that safety is paramount. Patient safety is the primary responsibility of everybody involved in a trial. Whether that be a software provider like us, a clinician or the drug manufacturer, everybody is concerned with patient safety first. All drugs, when they go through trials have to prove safety first and once that safety is proven, and a regulatory body agrees, they can expand the trial to a broader audience to test for efficacy. So I would encourage anyone who is interested in the trial to learn more about that by talking to the clinician, talking to the investigators who are responsible for the trial and make sure that you're comfortable that the safety profile is something you’re willing to accept. But again, we would love to have more and more people who are willing to participate in trials so we can get critical medication to people who need them a lot faster than we do right now.
Thank you very much to CISCRP for putting together this campaign. It’s super important for us to make sure that the general public has a better understanding of trials and how they can participate.
