Sales Engineer



Primary Responsibilities:

Key accountabilities of the Sales Engineer include the following: 

Demonstration environment management

  • Maintain Prancer sales demonstration environments, ensuring that product feature updates are incorporated and configured for general sales and conference demo accessibility.
  • Create and maintain demo scripts for product feature sets.
  • As product features are released, train business development team to support sales demos.
  • Work with DevOps to ensure demo environments are available as needed.

Client Relationships

  • Create relationships with prospective customers by presenting expert industry knowledge and demos at conferences and trade shows.
  • Work with prospective customers as part of the sales process in developing custom demonstration/solutions within Prancer for potential opportunities.

Custom Study Demonstrations

  • Leverage industry expertise in clinical operations to engage with clients on study design and to translate a protocol to an RTSM system design.
  • Configure best in class solutions for protocol-specific custom sales demos.
  • Attend client demo and/or bid defense meetings, leading custom solution demonstrations.
  • Deliver sandbox environments of custom demos to clients, including leading validation and documentation efforts
  • Partner closely with operations and Client Services Leads to transition any demonstration systems to delivery, when needed, ensuring client business process and design decisions are handed over completely.
  • Partner with operations and Client Services Leads to ensure streamlined client communication and relationship management across sales demo activities and project delivery for existing clients.


Required Experience:

  • 10+ years clinical research experience and 5+ years successful pharmaceutical and/or CRO sales support experience ideal; comparable combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Operations experience in clinical trials required.
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, terminology, and practices.
  • Proven ability in successfully presenting and demonstrating to potential customers.

Education and/or Certification Requirements:

The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree. Equivalent experience in Life Sciences and/or a related field may also be considered.

  • Business travel 60% +, namely client visits in support of sales opportunities and industry conferences.
